lost forests

exhibition in christies, london

An immersive installation that turns a large white space into a cinematic narrative for a small, unconventional jewellery collection.

Documentary stills of British landscapes surround the display, while precision apertures and bespoke dark forms make each jewel appear to float—glinting in a quiet void. Small process images balance the scale and reveal craftsmanship and heritage. The entire exhibition was installed in under an hour.

Working to a tight timeline and budget within a vast, minimal site, we built the experience around narrative. Large-format stills from the accompanying documentary introduced the landscapes that inspired each carved detail. Smaller images draw visitors into the making—tools, hands, and techniques—so the journey moves from place, to process, to piece.

Apertures cut into the imagery act like viewfinders. Behind them, custom mounts hold each jewel in darkness to heighten its preciousness and create the illusion of weightlessness. The result is a focused, cinematic environment that lets a compact collection command a generous space.

  • Hidden electric locks and frameless sliding glass doors keep sightlines clean and the pieces secure.

  • Modular kit designed for speed and finish.

  • Large-format landscape photography paired with intimate craft imagery for visual balance.

  • Bespoke mounts within image apertures to create a floating presentation.

All designed and fabricated in our London studio and workshop.
